Something about love
I wasn't joking when I wrote in my profile that I tried courting a girl and failed. (In case you haven't noticed it already, the profile is located just beside this post, on the right)
It is obvious to myself that I'm not good at these things. Some guys seem to have it in them naturally, but MOST don't. The Love Doctor at AskMen.com proposes this theory of his -- a factor called Challenge. If we act like a wuss and no Challenge, we will never raise a girl's Interest Level. Consequently, girls are never attracted to us. I'm one such wuss.
I've read quite a number of Doctor Love's articles, but I just couldn't put his advice into practice, unless they're similar to what I have in mind. Take for example, never give gifts unless there's a special occasion. I didn't heed the advice. The result? This :
"Thou scurvy tickle-brained hell-hated lunatic stop giving me stuff for no reason and occasion...I loath it!"
I learnt it the hard way. My intention for giving her the "stuff"? So that she can have something sweet to munch on at home, while reading, surfing the Net or completing assignments. I thought it would be nice. It makes sense. But certain good intentions should never be acted upon, especially those that make us look needy, desperate, or worse, "lunatic".
There are many more occasions when I did all the wrong things. The failure was probably a result of them combined. Too bad the opposite sex unconsciously puts a lot of consideration on minor things like this. It doesn't really matter if we would give up the world for them, all that's important in the early stage is to impress them, the higher their heads are over their heels, the better.
That brings a lot of questions to my hardly inquisitive mind...
Note: I'll continue posting on this theme. Maybe this will turn into a mini-discourse...
