Appearance and impression
A few days back I had a haircut. The new hairstyle turned out great, it's the most stylish I've had (due to the fact that I've always maintained the army cut). It's slightly over the edge for a student though. But I'm positive I won't get into trouble with school authority.
The problem is that I looked into the mirror and saw the image of someone else. (No no, I'm not telling you a ghost story here) I mean, it's so not me. Has I pushed the envelope too far? I looked like um... a rascal. Sort of. My parents didn't comment much though, as they would with my brother's quasi-mohawk. That, I guess, means I'm okay.
I started gradually and consciously reshape my appearance since the last few months. Now all of a sudden, after that particular haircut, I fear I'm giving a wrong impression of myself to others, especially a wrong first impression. I would like my appearance to project me as trustworthy, intelligent and capable of leading -- that would be the mature, corporate look. Or the good student look. That was my style before, borderline nerdy. Nothing wrong with that, a lot of advantages even. That's exactly what I'm afraid to lose -- the advantages of looking nerdy...

Jasmine, for the fear of confronting Margaret a.k.a. T-Rex, I've kept my hair low profile while in school. It's good you didn't notice... It proves my theory that I'll be safe from school authority. Hahaha...
